Bio-keyFast, Secure, and Convenient Staff

Login with Just the Touch of a Finger

BIO-key’s TruStaff fingerprint biometric log-in solution delivers a new level of reliability and user convenience for securing access to your Medflow Electronic Health Records (EHR). Now your staff can quickly establish their identity when logging into the Medflow EHR without the need to remember passwords, which can be easily lost, forgotten or shared. With this cost effective solution, your staff simply swipe a finger to quickly log into Medflow at any point in the patient care process. This method improves patient safety and protects their privacy along with your liability. Medical professionals prefer the speed, security and convenience that BIO-key’s biometric identification provides. They are no longer faced with forgetting and resetting passwords, improving their productivity and your overall system security!

Protect Staff & Patient Privacy
TruStaff eliminates the need for creating hard to remember, less convenient
passwords while protecting your staff’s identity and your patient’s privacy.
Now with the simple touch of a finger, your staff can establish their identity
when logging into Medflow. To further protect their privacy, the fingerprint image
is erased after it is converted to a mathematical template which is used to
establish their identity going forward. This template is secured by encryption
and cannot be reverse-engineered to re-create the fingerprint, ensuring the
highest level of security for your staff.

Secure Staff Access
Improve staff workflow, protect patient privacy, and provide more time for patient care by eliminating the need for password access into the Medflow EHR. The average doctor logs into various applications more than 100 times a day and often must remember multiple passwords. With TruStaff, a simple swipe of a finger replaces less secure passwords to establish identity when logging in.

Intuitive User Interface
BIO-key Identification is respected as the easiest to use in the industry. The BIO-key enrollment wizard provides real-time user feedback on finger position, instructing the user what action to take in the event a finger is not correctly placed on the reader.

Charlotte, September 5, 2013 – Medflow, Inc. today announced that Medflow Electronic Health Records v8.1 has been certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. By receiving the 2014 ONC HIT Certification, Medflow’s EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The significance of this milestone for the eye care community is that Medflow’s current and prospective customers can now have confidence that the EHR to which they have entrusted their practices will qualify for Meaningful Use Stages 1 and 2 and avoid penalties for non-compliance.

“This is a great day for our company and our customers,” commented Medflow President and Chief Executive Officer D. James Riggi.   “We realized how significant it was to get certified well before the beginning of 2014. We believe we are the first eye care specific EHR to become certified. It was a major challenge to effectively blend CQM aligned Clinical Decision Support into an eye care workflow.  We are proud to be the industry leader in our specialty segment!”

Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s program to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

The Medflow complete EHR is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
